A PROPERTY FOCUSED PROCESS
Start With
What We Know.
Understand the Situation
Start With the Real Estate Questions
Every situation is different. Begin by identifying the property, the timeline, the people involved, and the real estate questions that need to be answered. This creates a clearer starting point for understanding what decisions may need to be made.
Understand the Property
Know the Property
Review the home’s condition, location, property information, and other factors that may affect a future sale. Understanding the property itself helps establish what is known before determining what real estate options may be available.
Understand the Market
Know Where the Home Stands
Evaluate local market conditions, comparable properties, buyer activity, and the home’s potential position in the market. This provides real estate context for conversations and decisions concerning the property.
Identify the Options
A Sale Is Not Automatically the Only Path
Selling may be one option, but it is not automatically the only one. The goal is to understand the real estate considerations attached to the available paths before moving forward with a property decision.
Build the Real Estate Plan
Create a Clear Property Strategy
If a sale moves forward, establish the preparation, pricing, marketing, communication, and transaction strategy. This creates a defined real estate plan for bringing the property to market and managing the sale.
Manage the Transaction
From Listing Through Closing
When the property goes to market, manage the listing, offers, negotiations, inspections, contractual deadlines, and closing. The focus remains on keeping the real estate component of the situation organized throughout the transaction.
REAL ESTATE GUIDANCE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE.
Divorce can involve legal, financial, tax, mortgage, appraisal, and real estate questions.
Jenny’s role is focused on the property, local real estate market, and real estate transaction. Attorneys, financial professionals, lenders, appraisers, and other specialists provide guidance within their respective areas of expertise.
When appropriate, Jenny can collaborate with those professionals so the real estate component of the situation is clearly understood.
